We very much regret to inform our patrons that the Richmond Haunted Mansion will not be open this season. The news was last minute and shocking for us as we learned that the Cache County Building Department felt that the building was not reasonably safe due to some cracks in the brick masonry.

Over the next few months, we will consider our options of demolishing the building and constructing a new steal building in its place or allowing a historical group to restore the old existing building. The building is 106 years old and is one of the top 5 oldest standing factory buildings in the state of Utah.

One thing for sure is that the Richmond Haunted Mansion is not going away. The Richmond City council has been very good to work with. We all want to have the Haunted Mansion back within the next season or two.

Anyone who would like to help donate to the cause in order to speed up the construction of a new Haunted Mansion can make a PayPal donation to ppo@ztron.com Please be sure to make note on PayPal that the donation is for the Haunted Mansion. We also appreciate your input.

I don't think that you should destore the factory, because were it is already haunted in some parts of th factory. It could stear up the spirts that haunted that factory.

Thats too bad that it was closed down. I was really looking forward to checking you guys out. My advice is that even if the cost is more, restore the old building as it will provide a better environment for a haunting experience. Also, the first impression of the public will mean big success or failure. Make sure that everything is "perfect" before allowing the public to run through... maybe even have a few random guests take test runs and give their opinions before the final opening. Try to emulate Nightmare on Thirteenth. I have found that within Utah that is the best haunted house. Also make sure that those hired to scare will "play the part" no matter what and have them interact with the people walking through. This is essential. Scary clowns are a must! Special effects and even dripping water or mist sprays, etc,etc are all REALLY good. Have sections where people have to get involved not just walking but crawling through a dark tunnel, climbing a very small wall while trying to escape from something etc, etc. The admission price should reflect the quality so charging a good amount say... $15 especially if you include the $2-$4 off for bringing a can isnt a bad idea, as long as a lot of money is put into making it a quality haunted house. With all the students up here you'll have buisness in no time.
VERY IMPORTANT is having a waiting room and sending small groups every 2 minutes or so. I hate when the person in front spoils the scare for those coming up behind. Its worth waiting before going through. Don't think twice about this. Its a MUST.
Good luck and thanks for your time and consideration. If any other opinions are needed please let me know.
